Railroad Spike Forester Hatchet

I started with a high carbon railroad spike that I first annealed the hot chiseled a hole for the haft. The next step was to upset and spread the tip of the spike for the blade. I left the head of the spike in tacked and flattened slightly when forming the pole so it could be used as a hammer. The handle was a spare hickory hammer handle I had lying around.
